What is UBISea?

Ubisea is a project carried out jointly by Ubidreams, Sytel and the L3i Laboratory located in La Rochelle. The first objective of this smart grid, based on LoRa technology, is to alert local authorities when a boat is detected in a protected area. At the start of the development of the project, the objective was to study different telecommunications solutions to allow the system's internet connectivity.

Connected buoy: the prototype

Following various test phases, a first proposal for prototyping was made for the demonstration of the system. The challenge was to find the most suitable technical solution for the design of the device without knowing all the specifications of the final application.
